The CELC Activity Manager is responsible for the coordination of all functions and activities pertaining to the successful execution of the annual CFES Canadian Engineering and Leadership Conference. This position oversees the financial well-being, conference administration, public relations and any other tasks relative to the organization of the conference. The Activity Manager acts as a liaison between the National Executive and the conference organizing committee. The Activity Manager also ensures that the goals of the conference concur with the directions set by the National Executive.

CELC is an annual, bi-lingual, student-run conference that has two primary objectives. The first is that CELC is the annual general meeting of the CFES and the second is that it provides a platform from which students can collaborate with and learn from our industry partners, sponsors and fellow students. Attracting between 150 and 200 delegates from over 40 engineering schools, CELC is a great opportunity to reach out and engage engineering student leaders from every institution and field of engineering.

Hi! I’m Tarab. 4th year. Oldie. When not swamped with school work, I like to play brain teasers on Lumosity, watch highlight reels on Youtube and make DIY projects! I’ve also recently picked up Criminal Minds and Grey’s Anatomy again. Over the last few years, I have been an active member of the RyEng community, helping students transition from high school to university and spend the school year working part-time for FEAS at Ryerson. My proudest achievement so far was placing first at the Ryerson Engineering Competition in the Senior Design category! I look forward to seeing everyone at CELC 2021.

Action Plans:

  1. Work with members to develop a plan for a successful CELC
  2. Incorporate more tangible deliverables at CELC for delegates
