Since PM, I have continued to collect, sort, and forward all mail as necessary. I have re-organized the Google Drive “electronic library” of bank statements, and am now re-uploading to fill it in by account. I’ve been working actively with the VPFA in order to prepare and locate some of the necessary documents needed in order to perform our financial audit for 2013-2014 with Deloitte. Lastly, I have an EngCan’s Qualifications Board Engineer-in-Training Committee teleconference next week, during which we will be revisiting the Model Guide for EIT Supervisors that we has been an ongoing project of ours for… Read More

Hey Club members! The following is a brief update of the VPS activities since Congress 2014. At Congress I led a session on the evaluation of the NEM feasibility report I prepared earlier this year. It was decided that media campaigns were the most feasible as well as the most effective way for the CFES to celebrate Engineering across Canada. This year we started small with a short video featuring many of the CFES member schools singing dubbed versions of the famous Discovery Channel song ‘I Love the Whole World’. I have coordinated all the lyrics and have received almost… Read More

Since Congress, I have been up to a number of things. In addition to diligently collecting the mail, I participated in another teleconference with the Engineers Canada Qualifications Board EIT Committee, on which I am a student representative. We continued our work on the document being developed as a guide for EIT supervisors. Additionally, I began the electronic record of our bank statements, as it was decided at Congress that the NCL should aid the VPFA with bookkeeping. I plan to keep this up, and will be participating in my next EIT teleconference this spring! If you have any questions… Read More

Dear CFES,

The Board of European Students of Technology (BEST) would like to invite students of CFES universities to apply to attend a BEST course as an observer. As an observer you’ll have the opportunity to meet Engineering students from all over Europe, to learn about a technical topic, to learn how complementary education courses are organised in BEST, to get to know a European city and to have fun.

List of Summer Courses Descriptions – here you will find a list with the available courses for the upcoming Summer season (there’s 53 this season, so the list is quite huge!).

Written by: Julia Dalphy, National Capital Liaison Good day, lovely members of the CFES! I have for you an update on what the Engineers Canada’s Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Committee has been up to. As you may remember, I am your undergraduate engineering student representative on this committee, and I’d love to relay your thoughts and suggestions to the group (they want to hear what we have to say!). There have been two teleconferences since my last update, both of which have been focused on the development of a new project, entitled the Model Guide: Supervision of Engineers-In-Training. The document will address… Read More

Foreword “The Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board was established by Engineers Canada in 1965 to accredit undergraduate engineering programs that provide the academic requirements necessary for licensure as a professional engineer in Canada. In addition to advising Engineers Canada on all matters related to engineering education, the Accreditation Board works closely with Canadian universities to ensure that graduates of accredited engineering programs have the skills they need to become productive members of the profession.” Engineers Canada 2011 Modifications are taken place to insert an attribute based system to accredit programs.
